The Lagos State Police Command has assured residents of their safety following reports of a purported plan by some youths in the Oworonshoki area to disrupt activities on the Third Mainland Bridge.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Command said adequate security arrangements have been made to maintain law and order across the state and to ensure the free flow of traffic.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, who signed the statement on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, emphasized that officers have been fully deployed to strategic locations to forestall any breach of peace.
“Our officers are fully deployed to ensure the safety of all road users and to prevent any form of obstruction or disturbance. Members of the public are therefore advised to go about their lawful activities without fear and to cooperate with security personnel carrying out their duties,” Adebisi stated.
She further reiterated the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property while ensuring peace and stability across Lagos State.
“The Lagos State Police Command remains steadfast in its resolve to safeguard residents and maintain unhindered movement across all major routes, including the Third Mainland Bridge,” she added.
The Command urged residents to disregard false information capable of causing panic and to promptly report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
