National Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has given the Minister of Information and Culture 48 hours to withdraw the libelous statement he made against him last Friday or be prepared to face his lawyers in court.
This was made known in a statement by Special Assistant on Media, Ike Abonyi, the PDP national chairman had written a letter to Mohammed through his lawyer Emeka Etiaba SAN, with reference no. EESE&C/1/31/03/18 dated March 31, 2018 demanding a retraction of the injurious statement he made against him (Prince Secondus.)
In the letter captioned, Re: Publication of false and defamatory statement against Prince Uche Secondus, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party: Demand for retraction, Apology and Payment of damages, Secondus is asking for N1.5b damages, in addition to a public apology.
The PDP chairman’s counsel, noted that “the said publication has damaged the image of Prince Secondus, as he has been humiliated, castigated and vilified by many, as a result of the falsehood published by the Minister.”
