The major opposition party, People Democratic Party, PDP, in Kaduna State, has expressed its displeasure on the position of Kaduna State government over the sack of teachers in the state as it throws its supports for the current industrial action embarked upon by teachers in the state against the continuous sacking of civil servants in the state.

This is contained in a statement issued by the state publicity secretary, Ibrahim Alberah Catoh, pointed out that the illegal and undemocratic sack of teachers and other civil servants in the state has apparently showed that the El-Rufai government was insensitive and outrightly poised to increase the level of unemployment and poverty in the state, instead of alleviating it.

PDP in the state maintained that the industrial action as the only legal means to embarked upon for all civil servants to seek redress on the injustice presently meted out on them by the oppressive and repressive APC administration in the state.

The statement explained further, “The incessant sack of civil servants in the state if allowed to continue unabated, would definitely lead to high rate of crime, social vices and would dampened the morale of civil servants in the state.

“The leadership of the party can’t fathom why the El-Rufai government would appropriate the sum of N1billion in the 2018 budget for the construction of new legislative quarters, after selling the ones on ground and numerous government houses across the state at a cheap price to friends and cronies, in line with its so called monetization policy.

“With this, the El-Rufai’s administration has obviously demonstrated it’s penchant for deception, policy inconsistency and summersault. All aimed at deceiving the public, in other to curry their support as we approach the 2019 general elections.

“We condemned this act in its entirety, for it’s another ploy to fleece the resources of the people of our state of their collective common wealth.

“It is obviously regrettable that the APC rudderless government is now using non-indigenes to embezzle and siphon our state funds under fictitious projects and consultancy contracts, which has no bearing or direct impact on the masses of the state. This must be stopped for the betterment of our people.

“The wanton massacre, burning and kidnap of innocent citizens and traditional rulers in the state is a clear demonstration of the government’s ineptitude and lack of capacity to curb the insecurity challenge bedevilling the state.

“We wish to assure the people of the state that we greatly feel your pains and are in complete solidarity with you. We shall address your predicaments when you support us to victory in the forthcoming (2019) elections.

“The PDP leadership wish to reiterate its commitment to reinstate all unjustly sacked civil servants, just like we did in the past, in the state back to their office, when we take over power in 2019.

“We call on all and sundry to use their permanent voters cards(PVC) rightly, to vote out this fascist, repressive, retrogressive, insensitive unfocused and inept government of the APC, with a PDP progressive and people-oriented Government by 2019.”

The statement added, “PDP State Chairman, Hon. Felix Hassan Hyat and his entire Exco has condemned the sack of civil servants in the state and threats of sacking of more teachers for participating in the on going teachers’ strike in the state by the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasiru El-Rufai.”
