The Saraki Dynasty Group (SDG) organization has extended warm congratulations to Dr. Bukola Saraki, former President of the 8th Senate, following his resounding victory at the Supreme Court today, 8th June 2024.
The apex court’s decision to overturn the Federal High Court’s 2018 ruling regarding an alleged N3.5 billion fraud case against Melrose General Services Limited, a firm connected to Dr. Saraki, has vindicated his long-held position that the charges were politically motivated.
This is contained in statement signed by SDG scribe, Alhaji Amin Akota and made available to newsmen in Ilorin.
The statement stated that, “Throughout this challenging ordeal, Dr. Saraki demonstrated unwavering commitment to truth and justice, showcasing resilience and courage in the face of adversity.
“The SDG praised the judiciary for upholding the rule of law and ensuring that justice prevailed in this case, which serves as a beacon of hope for all unjustly targeted individuals.”
It further stated that, “The SDG celebrated not only Dr. Saraki’s victory but also the triumph of justice, truth, and democracy. The organization commended the Supreme Court for its landmark ruling, affirming the independence and integrity of Nigeria’s judiciary. The decision sends a clear message that the rule of law will not be compromised or intimidated.”
The Movement also conveyed congratulations to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) family for their unwavering support of Dr. Saraki throughout the ordeal. The organization encouraged continued advocacy for good governance, transparency, and accountability in Nigeria.
According to Akota, “In light of the verdict, the SDG warned against political manipulation of the legal system”. He emphasised that, “truth will always prevail. Dr. Saraki’s vindication serves as a testament to the power of truth and the resilience of the human spirit.”
The group concluded by praising Dr. Saraki’s commitment to transparency and accountability and reaffirming its dedication to promoting good governance in Nigeria. The organization, alongside Hon. Ameen Akota, expressed congratulations to Dr. Saraki on this well-deserved victory.
