Ministry of Women and Children Affairs Sokoto state in collaboration with EU-UN Spotlight Initiative has honoured the Executive Director, Productive Youth Development Initiative, Dr Auwal Ahmad with a Meritorious award in recognition of his unrelenting and valuable contributions to the betterment of lives of women and children in Sokoto state in particular and Nigeria in general.
The event that was held in Dankani Guest Inn Sokoto on Saturday, 4th, 2021 in the state capital of the Seat of Caliphate attracted many dignitaries from the ministries, Departments and Agencies of government in the states as well as across Civil Society Organisations, CSOs working on developmental issues in the state.
According to the awardee, “This is indeed a call for us to do more and to ensure safety of women and children in Sokoto State and beyond.”

Dr Ahmad however thanks Sokoto State government, Ministry for Women and Children Affairs, EU- EU-UN Spotlight Initiative and all partners and colleagues for giving me the opportunity to serve Sokoto people. “I am indeed grateful”. He added.
He expressed his special appreciation to Honourable Commissioner for Health, Hajiya Kulu Sifawa, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, all the Directors and staff who are working day and night in the service of women and children in the State. He therefore prayed Allah to reward them all abundantly.
Dr Ahmad also appreciates some other partners who are working to better the lots of women and children in the state.
He said, “My appreciation also goes to Partnership for Justice for establishing Nana Khadija Centre through which medical services are being provided to survivors of GBV.
