Southern Atlantic University Appoints Dr. Ugo Magnus Kel to Governing Council

Southern Atlantic University has appointed Dr. Ugo Magnus Kel to its Governing Council, marking a significant step in the institution’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its leadership and governance framework.

The institution is approved by the Federal Ministry of Education through the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the appointment underscores the its commitment to robust governance and academic excellence as it continues to consolidate its position within Nigeria’s higher education landscape.

Dr. Ugo Magnus Kel brings to the Governing Board a strong blend of academic training, institutional leadership, and strategic higher education experience. With advanced qualifications up to a PhD in Information and Communication Technology, he possesses a solid scholarly foundation and a research-oriented understanding of modern education systems.

As a seasoned university administrator, Dr. Kel has served in senior academic management roles, including Registrar of a university and Director of Strategic Development in a higher education institution. In these capacities, he has been deeply involved in academic governance, policy implementation, quality assurance, curriculum planning, and institutional growth—core responsibilities that directly align with the functions of a university governing board.
