Tinubu’s Special Adviser, Ngelale Bows Out Indefinitely, States Family Medical Reasons

In a statement released on Saturday, Ajuri Ngelale announced that he is taking an indefinite leave of absence to attend to urgent medical matters affecting his immediate family. Ngelale, who serves as the President’s Official Spokesperson and Special Adviser on Media & Publicity, revealed that he had submitted a memo to the Chief of Staff on Friday, informing of his decision to pause his duties.

In addition to his roles as Special Adviser and Official Spokesperson, Ngelale will also be stepping down temporarily from his positions as Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.

Ngelale explained that the decision was made after consulting with his family due to a deteriorating medical situation at home. He expressed hope to return to full-time national service when circumstances permit, but requested privacy for his family during this challenging time.

In his statement, Ngelale said, “I have submitted a memo to the Chief of Staff to the President informing my office that I am proceeding on an indefinite leave of absence to attend to pressing medical matters affecting my immediate family. I appreciate your understanding and pray for my family’s well-being during this difficult period.”
