TUC urges Nigerians to vote personalities, as group seeks suspension of Owan-Enoh from APC

Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), Cross River State, has called on members, civil society organisations and Nigerians to change the narratives by voting for personalities in the 2023 general elections.

The state Chairman, Mr. Monday Ogbodum, who was returned unopposed, made the call, yesterday, during the 6thTriennial Delegates Conference in Calabar, the capital of Cross River State.

Lamenting the harsh economic situation in the country, the state TUC chairman stressed the need to enthrone transformative governance through the democratic emergence of competent and visionary leaders at all levels.

“The crop of leaders in the country has failed Nigerians. May I, at this junction, call on workers, civil societies and, indeed, Nigerians to brace, hold the bull by the horns, to effect and change the narratives by voting personality, Nigerian with vision come 2023,” he said.

MEANWHILE, a political group, Back to South Alliance, has called for the suspension of Senator John Owan-Enoh from the All Progressives Congress (APC) for allegedly dragging the party and its governorship candidate, Bassey Out, to court.

The group also called on the Presidential Candidate of the APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to order the immediate removal of Enoh from the presidential campaign council.

They made the call yesterday at a press briefing at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Cross River State chapter, Ernest Etim Bassey Press Centre in Calabar.

Ekpenyong said: “We demand that Senator Enoh be immediately suspended from the APC. That our dear Presidential Candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, should know and have on record the destabilising actions of Enoh, and give him appropriate sanctions his action deserves by removing him from the presidential campaign council immediately.”
