In a scathing rebuke, the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has denounced the recent threats made by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, against Bauchi State, describing them as “disgraceful,” “thuggish,” and “bandit-like.”
The CNG’s condemnation comes after Wike’s incendiary remarks on live television, which have sparked widespread outrage and concerns about the minister’s fitness for office.
According to the CNG, Wike’s behavior is a stark reminder of his “dangerous and unrefined attitude” and a direct challenge to the peace and stability of Northern Nigeria. The group has warned that they do not take such threats lightly and are fully prepared to confront Wike and anyone who believes they can bully or destabilize the region.
The CNG’s National Coordinator, Comrade Jamilu Aliyu Charanchi, expressed shock and disappointment that a figure with such a notorious reputation holds a position in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government. Charanchi called on President Tinubu to urgently reconsider the inclusion of “volatile and unrefined elements” in his government, emphasizing that the Nigerian people deserve leaders who will work towards unity and stability, not those who would threaten it with their actions.
The CNG remains steadfast in its commitment to defending Northern Nigeria against any form of aggression or intimidation and has vowed to respond with equal force to any threat posed by Wike or his ilk.
