Late Adesoye’s Legacies Must Be Sustained – Gov. Ahmed

Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has said that well-meaning Kwarans and Nigerians must sustain the legacies of the late Asiwaju of Offa, Chief Emmanuel Adesoye.

 

The governor stated this on Thursday when he received family members of the deceased at the Government House, Ilorin.

 

While extoling the virtues of the late educationist and philanthropist, Governor Ahmed said Chief Adesoye left an enduring legacy by contributing immensely to the educational and industrial development of Kwara State.

 

He stated that the late Adesoye was a reference point to other successful indigenes of the state and called for the emulation of his legacies, particularly in the area of education, as government alone cannot handle education.

 

Governor Ahmed also pledged his support for Adesoye College, Offa, the school established by the deceased, emphasizing that the college was one of the best things to happen to Kwara and indeed Nigeria, as it is among the topmost secondary schools in the country.

 

Speaking earlier, the deceased’s son, Engr. Gbenga Adesoye said the family visited Governor Ahmed to thank him for attending the funeral of their late father in Offa. He also appreciated the support of the state government towards the success of the funeral. Engr. Adesoye also presented Governor Ahmed with a copy of the late Adesoye’s biography, Olorun Ku’se.

 

The late Adesoye died on December 3, 2017 at the age of 79.
