After a year of strained relationship with his High Chiefs crowned as kings by the Oyo state Governor, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1 held a council meeting with them, the meeting put to an end, the 12 months of estrangement.
The meeting of the Olubadan-in-Council was held yesterday at the Popoyemoja palace of the Olubadan. It was gathered that all the Obas are expected at the meeting.
The meeting, which that was used to hold twice a month, has not held since last year since the Olubadan kicked against the chieftaincy review that led to the coronation of the new obas.
The path to peace was charted last Sunday when the Otun Olubadan, Oba Balogun held what was described as a family meeting with the Olubadan and Sen. Rashidi Ladoja, the Osi Olubadan and a former governor of the state.
August 27, last year, at Mapo Hall, Ibadan, Governor Ajimobi conferred Obaship on the High Chiefs led by Oba Balogun (excluding Ladoja who rejected the title) and some of the Baales following the review of the Ibadan traditional chieftaincy law.

Sen. Ladoja challenged the government in court. The High Court ruled in his favour but the state government has since launched an appeal.
Since then, it has not been easy for the traditional rulers to speak with one voice.
The situation has pitched scores of Mogajis, accredited family heads against each other while efforts to reconcile with one another resulted in names calling and denigration of Ibadan traditional institution.
The success of the council meeting is expected to have effects on the final resolution of the confrontation between the Oyo state government and Olubadan on one hand and the crowned kings on the other
