The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 12, AIG Vungmoh Kwaimo, has paid a working visit to the Gombe State Police Command, urging officers to remain committed to tackling crime and terrorism while strengthening professionalism and collaboration across the North-East.
The visit, held at the Gombe State Police Command Headquarters, brought together senior police officers and members of the Police Public Relations Committee (PPRC) for lectures and interactive sessions aimed at enhancing service delivery, boosting operational efficiency, and improving security in the region.
Welcoming the AIG, the Commissioner of Police in Gombe State, CP Ahmed Umar Chuso, expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed the command’s loyalty to the Nigeria Police Force.
He highlighted the command’s achievements in maintaining peace and security across the state, noting that sustained engagement with officers and collaboration remain vital to improving morale, discipline, and effective policing.
In his address, AIG Vungmoh Kwaimo commended the Gombe State Police Command under the leadership of CP Ahmed Umar Chuso for its performance, describing the relative peace enjoyed in the state as a reflection of the command’s dedication and professionalism.
He urged officers to sustain the tempo, explaining that the visit formed part of his supervisory tour of Zone 12, following an earlier visit to Bauchi State.
According to him, the exercise is aimed at assessing policing activities, identifying operational challenges, and engaging officers on practical measures to enhance effectiveness in the fight against crime and terrorism.
The AIG also praised the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for implementing reforms that have improved the welfare of police personnel.
