The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North-Central), Dr. Abiodun Essiet, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on the official flag-off of the Akwanga–Jos–Bauchi–Gombe–Biu–Maiduguri Superhighway, describing the project as a landmark achievement that underscores the administration’s unwavering commitment to infrastructure renewal and national development under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

In a statement, Dr. Essiet said the approximately 700-kilometre superhighway would significantly transform economic activities across the North-Central and North-East geopolitical zones by improving regional connectivity, facilitating interstate commerce, reducing travel time, creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs, and strengthening security through improved accessibility.

According to her, the strategic road corridor will enhance the movement of agricultural produce, manufactured goods, and people, while opening up rural communities to investment opportunities, thereby accelerating socio-economic growth and improving the quality of life for millions of Nigerians.

She commended the Honourable Minister of Works, David Umahi, CON, for his dedication and effective supervision of critical road infrastructure projects across the country, noting that his leadership has contributed immensely to the successful implementation of the President’s infrastructure agenda.

Dr. Essiet further stated that the superhighway is another testament to President Tinubu’s determination to modernise Nigeria’s transport infrastructure, stimulate economic productivity, and foster national integration through strategic investments in roads, bridges, and other critical public assets.

She noted that beyond road construction, the Tinubu administration has continued to record significant achievements in several sectors, including the rehabilitation and expansion of federal highways, renewed investments in rail transportation, reforms in the oil and gas sector, increased support for agriculture and food security, renewed focus on local government autonomy, expansion of social investment programmes, improvements in healthcare delivery, education, digital economy, and initiatives aimed at attracting both local and foreign investments into the Nigerian economy.

The Presidential aide also highlighted the administration’s commitment to youth empowerment, women inclusion, community development, and the ongoing implementation of policies designed to strengthen economic resilience and create sustainable livelihoods for Nigerians.

She urged citizens, particularly communities along the superhighway corridor, to support the successful execution of the project, stressing that its completion would unlock enormous economic potential, deepen national unity, and promote inclusive development across the country.

Dr. Essiet reaffirmed her confidence in President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, expressing optimism that the administration’s sustained investments in critical infrastructure and people-centred policies would lay a solid foundation for long-term national prosperity and position Nigeria on the path of sustainable growth.
