The Ashraaf Islamic Foundation has felicitated with the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of Eidul Maolud 1448 AH, urging Muslims to use the commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) to promote peace, unity, compassion and peaceful coexistence.
The Foundation, under the leadership of Imam Sharafudeen AbdulSalam Aliagan, made the call in a statement issued to commemorate this year’s Eidul Maolud celebration.
The Foundation said the occasion provides Muslims with an opportunity to reflect on the life, teachings and exemplary character of the Noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW), particularly his enduring lessons on mercy, justice, forgiveness, compassion and respect for human dignity.
According to the Foundation, the commemoration should go beyond celebration and become an opportunity for Muslims to renew their commitment to the Sunnah of the Prophet and to demonstrate, through their conduct, the values of peace, service to humanity and peaceful coexistence.
It stressed that the best lover of Rasulullah (SAW) and the best way to celebrate his blessed birthday is to sincerely and completely emulate his way, character and Sunnah in all aspects of our lives.
The Foundation explained that genuine love for Prophet Muhammad (SAW) should not be limited to verbal expressions or festivities, but must be reflected in the daily conduct, character, relationships and dealings of Muslims with Allah and with fellow human beings.
It urged Muslims to strive to emulate the Prophet’s exemplary character in their homes, families, communities, businesses and places of work, particularly his commitment to truthfulness, justice, mercy, patience, forgiveness, humility, compassion and respect for human dignity.
The Foundation particularly called on Nigerians to intensify prayers for peace, security and stability in the country, amid the persistent challenges of insecurity, terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, communal conflicts and other forms of violence.
It urged Muslims and Nigerians of all faiths and backgrounds to unite in prayers and constructive efforts towards restoring lasting peace across the country.
The Foundation also prayed for the nation’s leaders and security agencies, asking Almighty Allah to grant them wisdom, courage and the capacity to effectively protect the lives and property of citizens.
It further prayed for the safe return of citizens who have been abducted and for divine comfort and healing for families and communities affected by insecurity and violence.
The organisation appealed to citizens to support legitimate efforts aimed at strengthening national security, while avoiding statements and actions capable of worsening religious, ethnic, political or communal tensions.
Beyond Nigeria, the Ashraaf Islamic Foundation also called for an end to wars, violence, persecution and humanitarian crises across the world.
It said the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) underscore the sanctity of human life, justice and the responsibility to protect vulnerable members of society.
The Foundation therefore called on world leaders and stakeholders to pursue peaceful resolutions to conflicts through dialogue, justice, reconciliation and respect for human dignity.
It particularly expressed concern for innocent civilians, women, children and displaced persons affected by conflicts and humanitarian crises in different parts of the world.
The Foundation maintained that sustainable peace cannot be achieved through hatred and vengeance, but through justice, dialogue, compassion, reconciliation and mutual respect.
The Foundation’s leader, Imam Aliagan, also urged Muslims to use the occasion of Eidul Maolud to strengthen their relationship with Allah, promote family and community bonds, assist the less privileged and uphold the noble values exemplified by Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
He emphasised that Muslims should make the Prophet’s Sunnah a practical guide for their everyday lives, noting that true celebration of the Messenger of Allah (SAW) is demonstrated by living according to his teachings and embodying his noble character.
He encouraged Muslims to intensify prayers for Nigeria, the Muslim Ummah and humanity, particularly for people facing insecurity, poverty, displacement and other forms of hardship.
The Foundation prayed that Almighty Allah would accept the acts of worship of Muslims, grant peace to homes and communities, protect Nigeria from insecurity, and bless the nation’s leaders with wisdom and the courage to act in the best interest of the people.
It also prayed for lasting peace in Nigeria and across the world, asking Allah to heal the wounded, comfort the bereaved, protect the vulnerable and guide humanity towards justice, reconciliation and peaceful coexistence.
The Foundation wished the Muslim Ummah a peaceful and spiritually rewarding Eidul Maolud 1448 AH.
