The Kwara State chapter of Arewa for Tinubu (A4A) has congratulated the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on his conferment with the traditional title of Sardauna Ngeri Ilorin by the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari.
The turbaning ceremony is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
In a statement signed by its Kwara State Coordinator, Mallam Nurudeen Imam, and made available to journalists, the group described the traditional honour as a recognition of AbdulRazaq’s leadership, service to the people and contributions to the development of Kwara State.
Arewa for Tinubu said the title of Sardauna Ngeri was more than a traditional honour, describing it as a testament to the governor’s connection with the people and his commitment to the transformation of the state.
The group commended the AbdulRazaq administration for what it described as significant strides in infrastructure, education, healthcare and youth empowerment, saying the initiatives had contributed to improving the lives of citizens and raising the profile of Kwara State.
It also praised the governor for his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his efforts to rally fellow governors behind the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda.
According to the group, AbdulRazaq has demonstrated leadership by promoting collaboration, unity and constructive engagement in pursuit of national development.
A4A further described the governor’s recent emergence as President of the Forum of African Regions (FORAF) as a significant achievement that had brought pride to Kwara State and Nigeria.
The organisation said the position further demonstrated AbdulRazaq’s growing stature and influence as a statesman beyond Nigeria.
The group prayed for continued wisdom, strength and guidance for the governor as he carries on with his responsibilities to Kwara State and the nation.
“On behalf of the entire structure of Arewa for Tinubu in Kwara State, we celebrate this well-deserved honour and pray that Almighty Allah continues to guide and strengthen you as you serve the people and the nation with even greater dedication,” the statement said.
Arewa for Tinubu again congratulated Governor AbdulRazaq on the traditional recognition, describing it as a well-merited honour.
