YCUGN Pays Tribute to Late Grand Chief Imam of Nuruddeen Society in Gombe

The Yoruba Council of Ulama Gombe Nigeria (YCUGN) has expressed deep condolences over the death of the Grand Chief Imam of the Nuruddeen Society of Nigeria, Gombe State Chapter.

In a statement signed by its General Secretary, Sheikh Alfa Okegbemiro Jamiu Okesola, the council described the deceased as a respected Islamic scholar, teacher, community leader and father who dedicated his life to the service of Allah, the Muslim Ummah and humanity.

The council said the late Grand Chief Imam was committed to promoting Islamic knowledge, unity and peaceful coexistence among Muslims and members of the wider community.

It noted that his leadership was characterised by humility, service and wisdom, adding that he used his position to settle disputes, provide guidance and support Islamic education in Gombe State.

According to the statement, the deceased also demonstrated generosity and concern for the less privileged, including orphans and students of Islamic knowledge.

The council said his contributions to Qur’anic education, mosques, Islamic schools and community development would remain part of his lasting legacy.

It urged members of the Nuruddeen Society and the wider Muslim community to uphold the values of unity, sincerity, patience and service to humanity which the late Islamic leader demonstrated during his lifetime.

The council also called on Muslims to continue supporting Qur’anic education and other initiatives that promote the welfare and unity of the Ummah.

The Yoruba Council of Ulama prayed to Allah to forgive the deceased, grant him mercy, illuminate and widen his grave, and admit him into Aljannatul Firdaus.

The council also prayed for Allah to grant his family, the Nuruddeen Society, the Yoruba community and the entire Muslim Ummah the strength to bear the loss and sustain his legacy.
