Sowore Hounds, Blackmails Owner of Tawakalitu Restaurant To Allegedly Distort Evidence’ on Alleged Attack

2 Mins read

Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore and his associates are reportedly threatening and blackmailing the owner Tawakalitu Restaurant, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Ms. Miriam Bakare Anike, to alter her testimony and those of her workers on the true account of what happened in the restaurant on the day he and his supporters were allegedly attacked.

The restaurant owner has, however, reportedly told the politician that neither she nor her workers would alter their own testimony of what they witnessed on the fateful day

Recall that, Sowore had recently alleged that he was on October 30, 2026, attacked and kidnapped by unknown persons. He later claimed that those persons were sponsored by the Ekiti State government. He further accused security agencies of providing his alleged attackers with the logistics. He has maintained this position on his social media handles as well as on several media platforms.

However, on the heels of Sowore’s allegations, the Nigerian Police Force released a statement where it clarified the circumstances surrounding the incident. According to the Police, the issue was triggered by an “altercation” in the restaurant.

The Police confirmed that it evacuated Sowore and some of his injured supporters to its hospital in Ado-Ekiti for treatment. Sowore also confirmed that he and his injured supporters were treated at the police facility. The police dispelled rumors of his alleged abduction, saying that they arrested some suspects who are aiding the investigation process.

A source close to the AAC presidential candidate revealed that the politician has resolved to continue blackmailing the restaurant owner to release a non-existent CCTV footage and other shreds of evidence relevant to favour him in the ongoing investigation. One of the workers said to be related to Sowore has reportedly gone underground on account of the pressure he is reportedly mounting on her to alter her initial testimony to the police.

“Sowore has been making several attempts to corce the proprietress of Tawakalitu Restaurant to release the footage and other recordings of the incident by her workers to him. He has severally threatened to ‘destroy’ her restaurant business if she fails to oblige him, to which the lady has maintained that the CCTV was faulty before the incident.

“Sowore also wants to access phone video recordings of some of her workers, which largely indicted him and his supporters. The restaurant owner has denied him all of these, saying she handed same to police investigators,” the source declared.
