Oniye Sympathises with Emir, Gov. AbdulRahman Emirate, Unilorin, KWASU Over the Death of Prof. M. M. Akanbi

… Describes Akanbi’s Death as a Great Loss*

The Dean, School of Education, University of Kigali, Rwanda, Prof. AbdulRazaq Olayinka Oniye has commiserates with the Chairman Council of Traditional rulers, Kwara State, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, Management of University of Ilorin,  Kwara State University (KWASU) Community, the legal parlance and the entire Ilorin Emirate over the demise of Prof Muhammad Mustapha Akanbi, SAN, who was the Vice Chancellor of KWASU until his death.

In a statement signed by Prof. Oniye himself and made available to Time Nigeria reads thus:

“I wish to commiserate with the Emir of Ilorin, the governor of Kwara State, the Emirate community, the management, staff-university of Ilorin, the Kwara State University, Malete; the Kwara State Professors’ forum and the Association of Ilorin Emirate Professors over the demise of Prof. Muhammad Mustapha Akanbi-Vice-Chancellor, Kwara State University, Malete.

“The news of his passage was received with rude shock. Prof. Akanbi died at a time the Kwara State University required his leadership acumen and administrative sagacity most.

According to the statement,  “Prof. Akanbi was a leader of men and an uncommon manager of human and material resources.”

Oniye described his sudden death as a great loss to the academic community and legal profession but we take solace in Almighty to comfort the Emir of Ilorin, the Emirate Council, Unilorin, KWASU, the entire Emirate, family and friends of the deceased.

It added that, “Prof. Akanbi until his death lived a very good life and distinguished himself through his contributions to academic, Ilorin, Kwara and national developments. His impacts in Ilorin, Kwara state, and Nigeria, at large will forever be remembered and greatly missed by all.

Oniye prayed Almighty Allah to  forgive all his shortcomings, grants him Aljanat Firdaos as well as give us all the fortitude to bear the great loss
