AGF Fagbemi to Deliver Keynote as Ilorin Hosts Book Launch, Youth Mentorship Summit Honouring Prof. Yusuf Ali

2 Mins read

Ilorin is set to play host to a major intellectual and cultural convergence as dignitaries, scholars and youth leaders gather for the public presentation of the book “Kuliya of Ilorin: A Life of Purpose” and the unveiling of the Kuliya Ngari of Ilorin Emirate National Youth Mentorship Summit in honour of the legal luminary, Prof. Yusuf Ali (SAN).

A major highlight of the event will be the keynote address to be delivered by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Lateef Fagbemi (SAN). His address, themed “Youth Mentorship and the Renewed Hope Agenda: A Pathway to Sustainable Nation Building,” is expected to explore the pivotal role of mentorship in leadership development and national transformation, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to the organisers, Fagbemi’s participation underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to raising responsible, value-driven young citizens and reinforces the importance of justice, ethics and mentorship in shaping Nigeria’s future.

The event, scheduled for Thursday, 15 January 2026, will hold at the Auditorium of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

The ceremony is being jointly hosted by two prominent personalities in the legal and academic communities — Alhaji K. K. Eleja (SAN) and the Vice-Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Prof. L. F. Oladimeji — who will serve as co-chief hosts.

Adding royalty and cultural significance to the gathering will be the presence of the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari (CFR), who is expected to grace the occasion as royal father of the day.

In a statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Nigerian Media Parliament (NMP) Media and Publicity Committee, Mallam Ahmed Ajiboye and Mallam Ahmed Ajikobi, the public was invited to attend what they described as a “historic and thought-provoking gathering.” They extended the invitation to scholars, traditional rulers, youth groups, professionals, media practitioners and the general public.

The book to be unveiled chronicles a life marked by service, leadership and purpose, reflecting the contributions of Prof. Yusuf Ali to scholarship and community development. The National Youth Mentorship Summit, which will also be launched, is designed to inspire and empower young Nigerians toward responsible citizenship and purposeful living.

Organisers say the programme will serve as a meeting point of intellect, culture and mentorship, in line with the Ilorin Emirate’s longstanding tradition of scholarship.

Members of the public interested in further information or attendance were directed to the designated RSVP lines: 07035234004, 08166043369 and 08030485482.

The committee expressed optimism that the event will not only celebrate purpose-driven leadership but also contribute significantly to investing in the future of Nigerian youth.
