Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia, the Dan Amanan Fune Emirate of Yobe State and Nwanne Ukwu Di Na Mba of Amaba-Ukwu Item in Abia State, has expressed profound appreciation to leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), traditional rulers, religious and community leaders, as well as family, friends and associates for the warm reception accorded him during his formal entry into the party in Ilorin.

Ajia gave the appreciation in a statement signed by his Director of Communications, Malam Abdulrahman Aliagan, and made available to journalists on Thursday in Abuja.

According to the statement, Ajia described the reception at the Mogaji Ngeri Ward as historic and encouraging, assuring that his membership of the APC would strengthen the party’s grassroots structure and mark the beginning of a stronger federal presence in Kwara State.

He was formally received at the ward and presented with the party’s broom symbol by the Ward Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Muritala Oforo and members of the ward executive at the Gegele Ward Secretariat, Ilorin-West local government area of Ilorin amid cheers from party faithful and supporters.

The event was attended by the Executive Chairman of Ilorin West Local Government, Hon. Shehu Abdulrahman Babatunde Ladan; the Special Assistant (Political) to the Governor of Kwara State, Hon. Suleiman Aremu Say Kai; religious leaders; respected community leaders; the ward chairman and members of the Mogaji Ngeri Ward Exco; the women leader, Hon Bukola Galadima; youth leader, Abdulwahab Abaya; members of the APC; as well as Ajia’s family, friends and associates.

Ajia, in the statement, thanked the party leadership and grassroots members for the confidence reposed in him, noting that the reception reflected unity, trust and a shared commitment to the progress of Kwara State and Nigeria at large.

He explained that his decision to join the APC followed extensive consultations, prayers and collective agreement among his supporters and community leaders, adding that the move was guided by patriotism and a desire to contribute meaningfully to national development.

Describing his entry into the party as one that would be impactful rather than symbolic, Ajia assured stakeholders that his networks across regions and institutions would help connect Kwara more directly to the centre of governance. He stated that this would deepen collaboration with the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and expand federal engagement with communities across the state.

Drawing from his background in the Nigeria Police Force and his research in community security up to Ph.D level, Ajia emphasised that sustainable peace and development must be driven from the grassroots.

He pledged to work closely with traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth and women groups to promote cooperation between citizens and security agencies.

He also expressed confidence in ongoing national security efforts under the leadership of General Christopher Musa, noting that stronger community participation would reinforce national security strategies.

Ajia further pledged to mobilise citizens to understand government reforms, encourage civic responsibility and support programmes aimed at improving living standards. He maintained that his political involvement is driven by service and commitment to collective progress rather than personal ambition.

Party stakeholders, according to the statement, described his formal entry into the APC as a significant boost to the party’s structure in Ilorin West and Kwara State at large, expressing optimism that his grassroots connections and national reach would strengthen political participation and governance outcomes.

Reaffirming his commitment, Ajia said his membership of the APC would serve as a bridge between the grassroots and the federal government, assuring that Kwara State would begin to witness a stronger federal presence through collaboration, development initiatives and inclusive engagement aimed at peace, stability and sustainable progress.
