APC deserves 100m registered members, says Lawan

1 Mins read

Senate President Ahmad Lawan has said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) deserves not less than 100 million registered members nationwide.

Speaking when members of the Ismaeel Ahmed-led APC youth lobby group paid him a courtesy visit at the National Assembly in Abuja, he expressed dissatisfaction with the 40 million-membership so far recorded by the party.

He charged the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led caretaker committee of the party to put in place an online platform to actualise the 100 million-membership target of the party.

He said: “I am not too satisfied with the 40 million members so far registered. There are more than 40 million persons who want to be card-carrying members of our party. We have not done enough to capture our members.

“Maybe, the party is constrained by time and publicity. We have to work harder to get 100 million Nigerians. The easiest way is the use of the online platform. Publicise it and make it easy.”
