Badaru Delivers Polling Unit Victory for APC, Dismisses Opposition Propaganda

1 Mins read

The Honourable Minister of Defence, H. E. Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, has reaffirmed his political strength in Jigawa State as the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured victory at his polling unit during the Garki/Babura Federal Constituency by-election.

Despite false claims circulated by some online platforms suggesting that the Minister lost his polling unit, official results from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) confirm otherwise. At Babura Kofar Arewa Primary School, Polling Unit 002 (PU 002) — the Minister’s voting centre — APC polled 188 votes, defeating the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which managed 164 votes.

Badaru’s media office swiftly condemned the misleading reports, describing them as deliberate attempts by opposition elements to misinform the public and undermine the Minister’s influence. His Personal Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mati Ali, clarified that the distortion arose from a false claim that Badaru’s polling unit was PU 001, instead of PU 002.

“These are desperate antics of opposition propagandists who are threatened by the Honourable Minister’s popularity. The truth is clear: APC won at his polling unit, and the official INEC declaration proves it beyond doubt,” Ali stated.

The development has been hailed by APC supporters as further evidence of Badaru’s enduring grassroots support in Babura and Jigawa State at large. Analysts note that the victory at his home polling unit is symbolic, consolidating APC’s dominance in the constituency and debunking PDP’s “false narrative of electoral gains.”

With this clarification, the Minister’s camp insists that no amount of propaganda can rewrite the facts of Saturday’s election, as only INEC’s results remain valid and binding.
