1 Mins read

The Ajia Ogbonde family has announced the passing of their patriarch, Mallam Mohammed Jamiu Toyin Ajia, father of Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia, the Dan Amanar of Fune Emirate in Yobe State.

According to the family, the late elder statesman died in the early hours of today, Monday, August 18, 2025, in Kaduna after a brief illness. He was aged 73.

The Janazah (funeral) prayer, the family further disclosed, will hold today simultaneously in Kaduna and at the family’s ancestral mosque, Ogbonde Ajia Mosque in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.

Mallam Ajia was widely known as a devout Muslim, community leader, and patriarch whose life was marked by humility, service to humanity, and commitment to Islamic values. His passing is regarded as a great loss not only to his immediate family but also to the wider Ilorin Emirate and beyond.

He is survived by children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who continue to uphold his legacy of faith and integrity.

Since the announcement, sympathizers have been thronging the Ajia family residences in Kaduna and Ilorin to commiserate with the Dan Amanar Fune and other family members.

The family has requested all friends, relatives, and associates to remember their late father in their du’a, seeking Allah’s forgiveness and eternal rest for him in Aljannatul Firdaus.
