The Dan Amanan of Fune Emirate and Nwanne Ukwu Di Na Mba of Amaba-Ukwu Item in Abia State, Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Ajia, Ph.D, has withdrawn from the race for the Kwara Central Senatorial seat, throwing his weight behind Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, in adherence to the consensus arrangement of the ruling party.

Announcing his decision, through a statement signed by his Director of Communications and Strategy, Mallam Abdulrahman Aliagan and made available to Journalists, Thursday in Abuja.

Ajia stated that “in deference to the consensus arrangement of our great party, I have decided to step down and fully support Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for the Kwara Central Senatorial seat,” emphasizing that party unity and discipline must take precedence over individual ambition.

He further affirmed his commitment to the party’s collective success, noting that “as a loyal party man, I am committed to working with all candidates that emerge and ensuring collective victory at all levels.”

Ajia also pledged his full support for the second-term bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declaring that “I pledge to work tirelessly for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the success of our party nationwide.”

Extending his loyalty beyond the senatorial race, Ajia assured that he would support any governorship candidate and other aspirants presented by the party, stressing that cohesion within party ranks remains essential for electoral success.

In acknowledging the role of his supporters, Ajia expressed profound gratitude to his network of allies, particularly the SAIHA NETWORK led by Saifullahi Babangida. He remarked that “I deeply appreciate SAIHA NETWORK and all my supporters for their belief in me; your trust remains invaluable,” referencing their gesture in purchasing his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms.

Describing his withdrawal as a strategic and principled move, Ajia explained that “this decision is a mark of respect for our party leadership, Mr. President, and Governor AbdulRazaq,” urging his supporters to embrace the development with understanding.

He consequently called for continued unity among his followers, stating that “I urge all my supporters to remain united and committed to the party’s directives as we work together to take Kwara to greater heights.”

The development signals a consolidation of forces within the party in Kwara State, as stakeholders align with the consensus arrangement ahead of the forthcoming electoral cycle.
