Former President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated his unwavering commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring that he remains a loyal member of the party and will continue to support its growth.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Garba Shehu, Buhari emphasized that he has always been an APC member and wants to be recognized as such. Without referencing any individual or ongoing discussions within the party, he stated that his allegiance remains firm.

“I am an APC member and I like to be addressed as such. I will try to popularise the party by all means,” Buhari was quoted as saying.

The former president also expressed gratitude to the party for the platform it provided him to serve two terms in office, noting that he considers it the highest honor and has no further personal demands.

Acknowledging the efforts of the party’s founding fathers, Buhari emphasized the need to sustain and nurture the APC to uphold democracy and constitutional governance in Nigeria.

His statement comes amid internal party discussions and political maneuverings as the APC navigates key issues ahead of future elections.

With Buhari’s reaffirmation of loyalty, political observers believe his influence within the APC remains significant, especially in shaping the party’s direction post-2023.
