Building Synergy for Renewed Hope in Taraba State

As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum across Nigeria, Taraba State is gradually emerging as one of the states where strategic political alignment within the All Progressives Congress (APC) is taking shape around the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

With the APC recently concluding the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms for the 2027 elections, attention has shifted to the growing synergy among key political figures from Southern Taraba who are working toward strengthening the party’s structure and consolidating support for the Tinubu administration.

At the center of this political coordination is Governor Agbu Kefas, whose administration has continued to focus on governance reforms, infrastructure development, healthcare improvement, education, and security. A native of Wukari in Southern Taraba, Governor Kefas has positioned himself as a leader committed to stabilizing governance and ensuring that development projects reach communities across the state.

Political observers believe his continued alignment with the APC and the Renewed Hope Agenda demonstrates a determination to sustain cooperation between the state government and the federal administration in advancing development priorities for Taraba State.

Working alongside the governor’s state-wide leadership is Senator David S.U. Jimkuta, who has gained recognition for his grassroots empowerment programmes and youth-focused initiatives in Southern Taraba. Widely described by supporters as the “Action Senator,” Jimkuta has built strong political support through interventions aimed at improving livelihoods and encouraging economic self-reliance among constituents. One of his most notable programmes was the ₦2 billion empowerment initiative in Wukari, where beneficiaries reportedly received vehicles, tricycle pickups, and motorcycles to support transportation and small-scale businesses.

The senator has also attracted commendation for investing in education and human capital development through the “Sen. Jimkuta International Scholarship to India 2025,” which sponsored 40 youths from Wukari, Donga, Ibi, Ussa, and Takum to study medicine and engineering in India.

Many residents see the initiative as a strategic investment in the future of Southern Taraba, particularly at a time when young people are seeking opportunities for quality education and global exposure.

Senator Jimkuta’s emphasis on skills acquisition and youth empowerment closely aligns with the broader objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda, especially in the areas of economic revitalization and job creation.

He has also publicly reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and support for President Tinubu’s anticipated re-election bid in 2027.

Another prominent figure contributing to the political synergy in Taraba is Ambassador Musa Muhammed Tsoken, who plays a national mobilization and coordination role within the APC support structure. Ambassador Tsoken, also from Wukari, serves as the National Coordinator of the Asiwaju Again Renewed Hope Support Initiative 2027 and National President of the APC Initiative for Good Governance (APC-IGG).

Through these platforms, he has continued to advocate for grassroots mobilization, effective communication of government policies, and stronger connections between federal programmes and local communities.

Known as a policy advocate and good governance ambassador, Tsoken has built a reputation around political engagement and public policy communication.

His professional credentials as a Fellow of Public Policy Analysis and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management have further strengthened his profile within governance and political circles. Associates say his leadership philosophy, which emphasizes “responding rather than reacting,” has helped shape his approach to political coordination and public engagement.

Through the APC-IGG and related support initiatives, he has consistently promoted the Renewed Hope Agenda while encouraging unity and strategic cooperation within the party.

What makes the alignment among Governor Kefas, Senator Jimkuta, and Ambassador Tsoken particularly significant is the fact that all three leaders come from Wukari in Southern Taraba.

Political analysts believe this shared background has created a unique convergence of executive authority, legislative representation, and national campaign coordination within a single constituency.

The emerging collaboration is increasingly being viewed as a strategic advantage for the APC in Taraba State, especially as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.

Supporters of the alliance argue that each leader is contributing from a distinct but complementary position. Governor Kefas is driving governance and development policies at the state level, Senator Jimkuta is strengthening grassroots political support through empowerment and constituency engagement, while Ambassador Tsoken is coordinating advocacy and mobilization efforts linked to the Renewed Hope Agenda at the national level.

Together, they represent what many party loyalists describe as a coordinated political structure designed to promote stability, development, and stronger party cohesion in Taraba State.

Beyond politics, many observers believe the growing synergy reflects an attempt to place greater emphasis on governance delivery, youth development, and long-term political stability rather than internal divisions.

With previous disputes and litigations within the political space reportedly resolved, the focus among party stakeholders now appears to be on unity, development, and strategic preparation for the future.

As the 2027 political season gradually unfolds, Southern Taraba is increasingly positioning itself as a major center of influence within the APC, with its leaders projecting a united front in support of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope vision for Nigeria.
