Faith and Freedom Africa (FFA) paid an advocacy visit to His Majesty, Sir Dr. Kurhaye Dishion Dansanda II, Kwandi Nunguraya, the Paramount Ruler of the Nunguraba Kingdom, as part of its ongoing engagement with traditional institutions to promote Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) across Nigeria.

The FFA delegation was led by the Country Representative, Mr. Felix Joseph Samari, ANPR, and included His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Peter Bathmawus, former Bishop of LCCN Gongola Diocese; Mr. Yirensuso Moses; Mr. Stanley Alexander of the Religious Freedom Youth Advocacy Cohort; and Mr. Samuel Clement Esthon.

During the visit, Mr. Samari expressed appreciation to His Majesty for participating in the National Christian Leaders FoRB Conference held in September last year. He also sought continued collaboration and support from the monarch in advancing Freedom of Religion or Belief initiatives across the country.

On a personal note, the Country Representative presented His Majesty with a copy of his newly published book titled ” *When My Name Was Not Called* ,” which explores issues of justice, minority rights, and the effects of marginalization.

In his response, His Majesty warmly welcomed the FFA delegation and described himself as a committed FoRB advocate who has continued to promote the principles of Freedom of Religion or Belief at every available opportunity. The meeting featured an interactive session during which the monarch shared his experiences in resolving issues relating to religious freedom and peaceful coexistence within his domain.

The Kwandi Nunguraya assured the delegation of his unwavering support and encouraged FFA to involve him in future advocacy visits to traditional rulers, noting that his participation would help facilitate engagement and strengthen communication with other royal fathers.

The advocacy visit forms part of Faith and Freedom Africa’s broader initiative to engage traditional rulers across Nigeria in promoting peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and the protection of every individual’s right to Freedom of Religion or Belief.
