A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State and one of the governorship aspirants, Alhaji Abdulkadir Hamma Saleh, has expressed dissatisfaction with the party’s decision to hand the governorship ticket to Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami.

Speaking to journalists at his residence in Gombe, Hamma Saleh said he and other loyal members who had spent years serving and building the party could not accept the manner in which Pantami was announced as the governorship candidate without proper consultation with key stakeholders.

He stated that they had no prior knowledge of Pantami’s defection to the PDP, adding that they only woke up to hear that he had emerged as the party’s governorship candidate.

Hamma Saleh further stated that he would pursue every legal means available to protect his rights, insisting that he is a bona fide member of the PDP who had already purchased the party’s governorship nomination form.

The PDP stalwart also noted that Pantami was widely known as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), where he had previously sought the governorship ticket but was unsuccessful.

“If he says he was not treated fairly in the APC, then he should also treat us fairly,” Hamma Saleh said.
