2 Mins read

The lives of my family (wife and three children) are in danger, having  received series of threats of killing from agents who are hell bent in getting at me at all cost.”

       — Oladipo Awe

Our Reporter

A Nigerian father and very popular freedom fighter,Dipo Awe has narrated how he managed to escape death by cheer luck after officials of the Secret Police in the country stormed the residence of his master,Sunday Adeyemo,a.k.a Igboho in the dead of night and killed some of their members in Soka area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital .

It all started on July 1,2021 when, along with others, we were targeted, having participated earlier in an operation meant to help his people gain their freedom from incessant attacks by Fulani militants.

Many of his people have been killed by those who invaded their farm lands in numbers.

Dipo who spoke with our media crew,Time Nigeria Magazine,a very popular media from his hideout, described his miraculous escape as an act of God.

“The lives of my family(wife, who is pregnant )and children are still in danger, having received a series of threats of killing from agents who are hell bent in getting at me at all cost.

The runaway Dipo captured his travail in fearful tone amidst fear of losing his life and family prematurely.

According to him,the federal government of Nigeria frowned at our efforts to drive away, the Fulanis, tormentor in chief whose criminal activities are all over Nigeria.

The farmers are afraid to go to the farm, and traders are afraid to go to markets.Insecurity brought about a high increase in prices of foods and other essential commodities.

The Yoruba people where I hail are asking for help and those who will help them drive away the unwanted visitors.

It was for these reasons that my mentor,Sunday Igboho, gave the Fulani invaders seven days ultimatum to vacate their father land.

It’s on record that the invaders killed our brother,Dr Fatai Aborode, who left Germany for Igangan,a popular town in Oyo state, to engage in farming.

His life was wasted on the same farm he has spent fortunes to establish.

Continuing,”when the seven days ultimatum we gave them expired, they still refused to move, and we mobilize to forcefully drive them away. This action did not go down well with the federal government.

“At exactly, 1.34 am,on July I,2021,the government security agents invaded my masters residence, at Soka area of Ibadan armed with Armour Tank and sophisticated weapons and killed some of our members,I was lucky to narrowly escape with our leader.I scaled through the fence.

I was subsequently declared wanted and had to hide somewhere and then ran for my dear life after i was discharged from a hospital.

I have to speak to the Nigerian Press on August 10,2021, for the world to know my predicament.

Indeed, I escaped the onslaught, having been traditionally fortified with charms and God being on my side.

I went into hiding and thereafter escaped under disguise.

Until now,the federal government has not relented in its efforts to waste my life. Staying in Nigeria will be the highest risk as my life could no longer be guaranteed, “he concluded.
