Jonathan’s name missing as APC set to screen Tinubu, Amaechi, others

Ahead of next week’s presidential primary, the ruling All progressive congress (APC) has commenced the screening of its aspirants.

The two-day exercise taking place at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja has a seven-member panel chaired by the former national chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.

Those to be screened include Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Vice President Yemi Osibanjo; former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi; former Minister of Niger Delta Development, Sen. Godswill Akpabio; former Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu; former Imo Governor Sen. Rochas Okorocha and former Ogun Governor, Sen. Ibikunle Amosu.

Others are Pastor Tunde Bakare; Cross River Governor Prof. Ben Ayade; his Ebonyi counterpart Gov. Dave Umahi; Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) Kayode Fayemi; Minister of State for Education, Hon. Emeka Nwajiuba; former Senate President, Sen. Ken Nnamani; Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello; Jigawa Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar and former Zamfara Governor Sen. Ahmed Yerima.

Also on the list are Senator Ajayi Borroffice; the only female aspirant, Barr. (Mrs) Uju Kennedy Ohanenye; Pastor Nicholas Felix Nwagbo; former Speaker Dimeji Bankole; Senate President Ahmed Lawan; former Minister of Information, Chief Ikeobasi Mokelu and Mr Tein Jack Rich.
