Kano State Government has ordered the immediate closure of a private school, Noble Kids Academy, in Nassarawa Local Government Area of the state, where Hanifa Abubakar was murdered.

Hanifa, a five-year-old pupil, was reportedly killed and buried by her abductors who were led by her teacher Abdulmalik Mohammed Tanko.

The state police said Abdulmalik confessed to the killing of Hanifa after demanding ransom from her family.

“On investigation, Abdulmalik confessed that the victim, Hanifa was his student at a private school in Kwanar Dakata, Nassarawa LGA, Kano State,” Kano police spokesman Haruna Kiyawa said in a statement.

“He kidnapped her and took her to his house where he contacted her relatives and demanded a ransom of Six Million Naira (N6,000,000).”

The police said Abdulmalik realised that the victim recognized him”, so he decided to poison her to death with the conspiracy of one Hashim Isyaku.

Abdulmalik and Hashim, according to the police, buried Hanifa “in a shallow grave within the private school premises located at Kwanar ‘Yan Gana, Tudun Murtala Quarters, Nassarawa LGA, Kano State.”

Reports said Hanifa’s family paid the N6million ransom to her abductors but killed her after receiving the money.
