“Kogi West Agitations for Lugard House is a Legitimate Demand” says Obaro of Kabba.

1 Mins read

The people of Kogi West Senatorial District have been urged to sustain the existing peace and harmony despite political choices and affinity.

The Obaro of Kabba and chairman of Okun Area Traditional Council, Oba Doctor Solomon Dele Owoniyi gave the advice while speaking with newsmen in Lokoja.

Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi said the major event of the early part of 2023 is the general elections and prayed God allow the process free of violence, transparent and credible.

He explained that politicians out of desperation might unleash violence in the process and urged Okun youths and Kogi West in general to speak to their children to avoid being used as thugs and agent of destruction.

The traditional ruler maintained that the 2022 electoral laws gives no room for thugs noting that whoever criminally carries ballot box would only waste his time.

On the calls for Western Senatorial District to emerge at the Lugard House, the Obaro of Kabba maintained that the calls are legitimate demands considering the fact that two out of the senatorial districts had served at the apex level.

He however emphasized that there are no constitutional provisions for rotational arrangements and advised politicians to deliberate on maintaining fairness, equity and justice in the political setting.
