Players of the Shooting Stars Sports Club(3SC),have been rewarded for their win against the visiting Kano Pillars Football Club with a cash of N1m by the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde in a week 18 encounter of the on going Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) competition.

The match which was played under floodlight on Sunday was watched by thousands of Fans and Journalists with the Governor also in attendance.

Kano Pillars players also smiled home with the same #1m for their spirits of sportsmanship.

The explosive encounter became a relief for the Oluyole Warriors having secured a 3 point needed to salvage their poor runs after not impressive matches in four games back to back.

The 3SC players obviously played under pressure as Fans did not spare them from calling for total overhauling including the Technical crew.

The visibly happy Oyo state helmsman,  expressed delight at seeing the atmosphere around the arena, even as he was happy with the progress of the Nigerian topflight.

Recall that the Oluyole Warriors, only scored once in the first half prior to Sunday’s match, after Gafar Olafimihan:s opener from the spot during the matchday six encounter against Sunshine Stars of Akure, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

It will be recalled that the last time governor Makinde watched Shooting Stars’ league game live, also ended on a victorious note, as Chinedu Enuademu’s 87th minute goal gave the team a 1-0 win over Ekiti United in a matchday five tie of the botched 2019 NNL season.

Meanwhile, with the 1-0 defeat over Kano Pillars, the 3SC now occupies 11th position with 23 points in the Premier League table .

The point gives the Shooting Stars an advantage over their next opponent on Sunday home match,Nasarawa United with 22 points.

The 3SC gaffer,Edith Agoye has however said that he will treat every game as it comes with the necessary preparations and expressed confidence that the Team will record another 3 maximum points to boost their chances.

Our man,who covered the match played under the flood light reported that despite the timing of the match which kick off at 7pm and ended 9pm,the turn out of the Fans was very encouraging.

End.
