A suspected ritualist has confessed to have sold a human head at the rate of N25,000 as the buyer paraded along with him.

One of the suspects, Abideen Raheem aged 42, narrated how he exhumed a human head, cut it with knife and sell it to his friend who said he needed it for money ritual.

Raheem was among  suspected 43 criminals paraded on Tuesday at the Oyo State Police Command Headquarters Eleyele Ibadan, the Capital City of the state.

Raheem confessed that he actually exhumed the corpse, cut it’s head with a knife and sold it to his friends Moruf Ganiyu that needed it for money ritual.

He said, “I actually wanted to help my friend who contacted me that he needed human head for money ritual.

“I cut the the head with a knife, and took it away, I gave my friend who told me that he needs it for money ritual”.

“I exhumed the head from one public cementary in Olunde area of Ibadan on Saturday and immediately I got it, I called my friend Moruf Ganiyu aged 50, to come and pick it. He was arrested with the head on his way home I learnt. It was his arrest that led to my arrest. Raheem said.

Moruf Ganiyu in his words also admitted to have sent his friends to get human  head for him.

He said, “I actually discussed the issue with my friends Raheem and he promised to get me the head.

“Upon getting it, he called me, I collected it and I gave him the sum of N25,000 for his job, I actually wanted to use the head for money ritual. Ganiyu said.

Briefing journalists on the development, the state Commissioner of Police, CP. Ngozi Onadeko fdc confirmed that the suspected criminals were arrested for unlawful possession of human head.

She said, ” On Monday 06/12/2021 at about 1217hrs, operatives attached to Mapo Divisional Police Headquarters while on intensive and intelligence driven Patrols around Popoyemoja and Idi-Arere areas apprehended one Moruf Ganiyu ‘m’ age, 50yrs of 56 Omikunle Ilupeju area Ibadan who had in his possession a human head concealed in a Nylon Bag.

She stated that both Raheem and Moruf confessed to the crime and  their claims that  the human head was exhumed from Abode Cementry along Akaran Road Ibadan.

Abideen Raheem ‘m’ resides in Ile-Sheu, Olomi while Moruf lives in Omikunke Ilupeju area of Ibadan. Exhibit recovered from the suspects was a human head.
