The Librarian of Kwara State University, Professor Salman Abiodun Abdulsalam has dissociated himself from a group called “Concerned Kwarans” and its activities, he also warned the actors in the misadventure to stop dragging his person and office into the propaganda, adding that he may be constrained to seek legal action. This is contained in a statement he issued, personally signed and made available to newsmen, yesterday in Ilorin.

According to the statement, “My attention has been drawn to an article titled “APPOINTMENT OF KWASU VC: THE OVERBEARING POWERS OF ISHAQ OLOYEDE OF JAMB TO THE DETRIMENT OF CANDIDATES OF KWARA CENTRAL SENATORIAL DISTRICT MUST BE CHECKED” circulating in the social media by a group that tagged itself “Concerned Kwarans”.

“The group claimed that as the only principal officer from Ilorin extraction, I was deliberately sidelined from management decision making process at Kwara State University, which they considered smacked of hatred for Ilorin people. This publication has tried to use me as cannon folder for its propaganda in favour of certain individuals or groups.

“Mentioning my name in the article in circulation makes it look as if I am a party to the write-up, which is far from the truth. It is, therefore, necessary for me to state here categorically and clearly that I have no contact or affiliation with the group tagged “Concerned Kwarans” and want to warn that those involved in this article or the body that wrote it to desist from adding me to their propaganda for whatever objective they might have, otherwise, I may be constrained to seek appropriate legal redress.

“Secondly, alleging that I was deliberately sidelined in management decision making process is a fallacy that cannot be substantiated. The management of Kwara State University under the able leadership of the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh Luqman Jimoh, runs an all-inclusive management and every view counts in the decision-making process in which I play active part. I’m committed to putting in place a world class University library services in line with best practices.

“I therefore, cannot understand where the group had its information of anyone being sidelined for some hate-prone objective in KWASU.

Aside from de-sociating myself from the group, I hereby warn the actors in this misadventure to stop dragging my person and office into the propaganda.
