Sanwo-Olu Has Created Alot of Opportunities for Youth Empowerment – Bestman

The President TeamNigeria4Change, Otunba Bestman Nze-Jumbo has stated that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has created numerous opportunities to create employment opportunities to reduce employment and make youth self-reliant.

Otunba Bestman Nze-Jumbo disclosed this on Thursday at Excellence Hotel Ogba while addressing thousands of youth during symposium organised by a Socio-political group, TeamNigeria4Change.

Speaking at the symposium with the theme: ‘Lagos, a goldmine for the youths’ attended thousands of participants from 20 local government areas and 37LCDAs physically and virtually, he implored the participants to acquire quality education and vocational skills to prepare them for better tomorrow.

The Brand and Marketing Communication Expert cautioned youth not to allow peer group or social trends to derail them from attaining their potential.

His words: “I grew up in Lagos. I attended Baptist Academy and University of Lagos. I remember when my guys on the street were trying to discourage me from taking academic study serious but now we are supporting alot of them. Some girls will want to join clique and jeopardize their future for trendy stuff. I challenge you to be different, add value to yourself, stay focused and what you will become in the next 10-15 years.”

Similarly, Lagos State Commissioners and other experts also charged youths across the state to harness job and business opportunities created by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to reduce unemployment, create jobs and make them self-reliant.

The Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperative, Trade and Investment, Mrs Folashade Ambrose-Medem said Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration has created alot of business opportunities including training and grants to support SMEs in the state.

The Commissioner speaking through Mr Aro Peters advised the youth to pay attention to packaging of their services as well as products to attract patronage within and outside Nigeria.

Mr Aro noted that the fluctuating FOREX can be address by turning Nigeria to manufacturing/production economic,

According to him, every Nigerian must just the ongoing campaign of ignore the dollars; spend the naira. The foreign exchange rate of naira to dollar will continue go up, if we don’t change our attitude towards Nigeria made products.

On her, the Commissioner of Agriculture, Abisola Olusanya who was represented at event tasked the youth to embrace Agribusiness, noting Agriculture is beyond farming. She said Governor Sanwo-Olu is willing to support young and vibrant Lagosians in the agricultural value chain.

Our Correspondent reports that some of the participants will be sponsored to Brazil for capacity building training. Some of the participants also displayed their creative talents to delight of guests and other attendees.
