The Special Adviser on Media and Strategy to the Kwara State Gubernatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Abdulwahab Oba, has advised the Kwara State Governor and Gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to stop “behaving like touts and fanning the embers of hatred and discord in his desperate bid to secure an undeserved second term”.
Oba gave the advice in his response to a video clip in which the governor is heard castigating the former administration in the state on the 2019 Offa robbery, a case that is still in court.
According to Oba, “in recent times, AbdulRahman’s hate speech has, more than ever, given him out as possibly intellectually unstable or emotionally volatile”.
“How can a governor, who is supposed to be the chief security officer of his state, keep making careless, unguarded and intellectually illogical statements on a case before the court?”, Oba asked.
Kwarans, and indeed, the people of Offa, know the true story about the Offa robbery, and that was why every attempt to robe innocent people into the dastardly act has failed.
Oba called on the governor to address Kwarans on the allegations that he is using the state resources in building a refinery in Cote D’Ivoire and acquiring mansions in the United States.
“We call on AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to tell Kwarans what has happened to the N17.9b he said he kept in a bank and the N18.6b infrastructure support grant from the federal government, even in the face of an unprecedented N109.55bn and $45.94m debt profile”, he queried.
Oba advised the governor to address Kwarans on what the government is doing to ameliorate the financial trauma the people are going through, beyond issuing a vague statement after a belated meeting with Central Bank officers.
