House House House (Housex3), an Abuja-based cultural platform dedicated to house music and artist development, has announced the return of UduRoom, its international house music bootcamp aimed at nurturing talent and strengthening Nigeria’s electronic music ecosystem.
The second edition of the 12-day programme is scheduled to hold between June 1 and June 20, 2026, in Abuja, bringing together vocalists, producers, instrumentalists, DJs, and live performers working within contemporary electronic music culture.
According to the organisers, UduRoom combines workshops, lectures, listening labs, collaborative recording sessions, and live performance programmes designed to deepen artistic development while fostering international cultural exchange.
Established by House House House, UduRoom was created to address gaps within electronic music culture by placing emphasis on live performance, mentorship, vocal expression, and collaborative creativity within house music practice.
Building on the success of its inaugural edition in 2025, the 2026 programme will feature an expanded international lineup of facilitators and contributors from the United States, Europe, and Africa.
Confirmed facilitators and guest contributors include New York-based E-Man, Chicago house music veterans Doc Link and Funky Blackman, Nigerian artists Odenose, G.rizo, and Moses Obi, as well as Sebastiao Loopes from Angola and Switzerland, and Black Electronika from Berlin and Nigeria. Organisers said additional guests would be announced in the coming weeks.
The public programme will feature a series of virtual lectures, artist talks, production workshops, listening sessions, DJ performances, and the highly anticipated UduRoom Live Cypher, which will be hosted during the annual Fête de la Musique celebration in collaboration with Institut Français Nigeria.
Named after the traditional Igbo percussion instrument known as the “udu” (drum), the initiative seeks to connect indigenous African musical traditions with contemporary electronic sound culture while promoting house music as a tool for education, collaboration, and cultural expression.
Speaking on the vision behind the programme, G.rizo, Programmes and Artistic Director of House House House, said UduRoom is focused on building sustainable creative infrastructure for African electronic music culture while honouring the community-driven roots of house music.
Highlights of the 2026 programme include the virtual opening panel titled “House Music is a Feeling” on June 1, production workshops and vocal lectures on June 3 and 5, a DJ night featuring Sebastiao Loopes on June 12, the UduRoom Live Cypher at Fête de la Musique on June 20, and the closing event at House House House featuring E-Man later the same day.
The initiative is supported by Institut Français du Nigeria, the Embassy of France in Nigeria, and Pro Helvetia Johannesburg.
Founded in Abuja in 2018, House House House (Housex3) is an independent cultural platform that promotes house music, artist development, community programming, and cross-cultural collaboration across Africa’s growing electronic music scene.
