UPDATE: Hajia Mariam Ajia Laid to Rest in Abuja

Following the earlier announcement of her passing, the remains of Hajia Mariam Ajia, beloved mother of Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Ajia, the Dan Amanar of Fune, have been laid to rest.

Following the earlier announcement of her passing, the remains of Hajia Mariam Ajia, beloved mother of Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Ajia, the Dan Amanar of Fune, have been laid to rest.

The Janazah (funeral) prayer for the late matriarch was held at the National Mosque, Abuja, attended by family members, friends, and well-wishers who gathered to pay their final respects. Among the the visitors were the former Inspector General of Police, MD Abubakar, the Turaki of Ilorin, Senator Saliu Mustapha, Amb. Yahaya Seriki, Alhaji Yinka Aluko, the Dan Iya of Ilorin, Engr. Kale Kawu among others.

She was subsequently buried at the Gwarimpa Muslim Cemetery, Abuja, in accordance with Islamic rites.

Hajia Mariam Ajia died earlier today, July 7, at the National Hospital, Abuja, after a brief illness.

The family, in a statement signed by Malam Abdulrahman Aliagan, Director of Communications to Alhaji Mohammed Ajia, has once again solicited prayers for the repose of her soul.

The Seven Day Fidau prayer will be held at the Ajia Ogbonde family in Ilorin on Sunday 13th of July, 2025.

May Allah forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljannatul Firdaus. Ameen.
