The National President of the APC Initiative for Good Governance (APC-IGG) and National Coordinator of the Asiwaju Again Renewed Hope Support Initiative 2027, Ambassador Musa Muhammed Tsoken, has commended the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Engr. Prof. Terlumun Utsev, for what he described as his strategic contributions to the successful implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Tsoken gave the commendation during a visit to the Minister, where he highlighted the Ministry’s achievements in expanding irrigation, enhancing agricultural productivity, improving access to potable water and supporting sustainable economic development across the country.
According to him, since assuming office, Prof. Utsev has demonstrated purposeful and result-oriented leadership by implementing policies and programmes that are directly aligned with President Tinubu’s vision of economic recovery, food security and improved living standards for Nigerians.
He noted that one of the Minister’s most significant achievements has been the rehabilitation and expansion of irrigation infrastructure through the nation’s River Basin Development Authorities. He explained that the intervention has enabled year-round farming by improving the functionality of dams and irrigation schemes, thereby reducing dependence on seasonal rainfall and promoting mechanised, climate-smart agriculture.
Tsoken said the initiative is already contributing to increased food production, helping to combat food inflation while strengthening national food security. He added that the reforms are creating new opportunities for farmers and positioning agriculture as a major driver of economic growth.
The APC-IGG National President further applauded the Ministry’s collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security under the leadership of Senator Abubakar Kyari, describing the partnership as a strategic move towards providing reliable water infrastructure for mechanised farming clusters across the country.
According to him, the collaboration has begun to reduce post-harvest losses, improve crop yields and generate employment opportunities for youths and women, particularly in rural communities where agriculture remains the primary source of livelihood.
Tsoken also praised the Ministry’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that its programmes are guided by measurable performance indicators in line with the policy direction of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume.
He observed that projects executed by the Ministry are increasingly focused on tangible outcomes, including expanding irrigated farmland, increasing access to safe drinking water and providing greater support for smallholder farmers.
“This is governance with measurable results. It is governance that puts food on the table of Nigerians and ensures that more communities have access to clean and safe water,” he stated.
Describing water as the foundation of agriculture, public health and economic development, Tsoken said Prof. Utsev has continued to demonstrate that effective water resource management remains central to achieving national prosperity.
He maintained that the Minister’s practical policies, visible project delivery and unwavering commitment to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda have earned him the confidence of stakeholders across the country.
On behalf of the APC Initiative for Good Governance (APC-IGG), the Asiwaju Again Renewed Hope Support Initiative 2027 and millions of Nigerians, especially those in farming communities, Tsoken commended the Minister for his vision and dedication to national development.
He pledged that the organisation would continue to mobilise grassroots support for the administration while promoting public awareness of the achievements being recorded under the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
