36 States Pay 2.85b External Debt in April

THE 36 states of the federation paid a total of N2.85 billion in external debt in April 2018, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

 

The debt was deducted from the April 2018 disbursement of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC).

 

Time Nigeria findings shows that Lagos state paid N847, 844,680.25, the highest, followed by Kaduna with N187,188,131.13.

 

The 36 states owe an external debt of $4,083,406,802.03. Lagos state remains the highest debtor with over $1.4b. The state according to the Debt Management Office owes a total of $238,279,089.98, as at December 2017.
