By Oyewale Oyelola

Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa, PhD, is a foundation member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He served as a member of the Bayelsa State Governorship Screening Committee in 2015.

BOB won Councillorship, Council Chairmanship and House of Representatives elections on the platform of progressive party that transformed from Alliance for Democracy (AD) into the Action Congress (AC) and later Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

Bolarinwa, after serving meritoriously under the leadership and mentorship of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu relocated to Kwara State in order to promote progressive ideals.

He emerged as Kwara APC Chairman in 2018 to lead the progressive revolution codename – OTOGE. Under his watch, APC became a vibrant and formidable Party in spite of the exit of an incumbent Senate President, Sitting Governor, two other Senators, Minister of Federal Republic, six House of Representatives Members and 23 State Lawmakers.

BOB led APC to victory in the highly competitive 2019 general elections by winning all 34 elective positions; Governor, three Senatorial seats, six House of Representatives seats and 24 Kwara State House of Assembly Constituencies.

Late President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Bolarinwa as the Chairman, Governing Board of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) in March 2022.

It’s therefore imperative for APC leadership and members to embrace Bolarinwa’s candidacy as the Party’s Governorship flagbearer in Kwara State for 2027 general elections.

Fielding the former Kwara APC would give the party resounding victory in the general elections due to his acceptability across party lines in the 16 local government areas of the state.
