  • Says Saraki’s Message Rekindles Hope, Calls for Grassroots Mobilization Ahead of 2027

The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has declared that the party remains strong, united, and unwavering despite recent defections rocking its ranks at the national level.

In a press statement signed by the state chairman, Rt. Hon. Babatunde Mohammed, the PDP in Kwara urged members, stakeholders, and supporters across the state to remain calm and focused, describing current developments as a “necessary phase of purification” rather than a setback.

“Defections and political realignments are neither new nor strange in our history,” the statement said. “Rather than view them as defeat, we must recommit ourselves to rebuilding the party from the grassroots.”

Reacting to the recent exit of some PDP members in Delta State, the chairman noted that such moves only exposed those who are “insensitive to the plight of the people,” especially amid the prevailing economic hardship under the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government in Kwara State.

Rt. Hon. Mohammed also hailed the recent national broadcast by former Senate President and PDP leader, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, describing it as a source of reassurance for party faithful in Kwara and across the country.

“The message by Dr. Saraki is not just a national clarion call—it is a direct charge to Kwarans to close ranks, ignore distractions, and prepare for the task of reclaiming the state in 2027,” the statement said.

Reaffirming its commitment to inclusivity, grassroots empowerment, and people-centered governance, the party called on loyal members to return to the basics of political organizing and mobilization.

“This is not the time for despair,” the statement read. “It is time to reinforce our polling unit structures, energize our wards and local governments, and speak directly to the yearnings of our people suffering under the failed leadership of the APC in the state.”

Rt. Hon. Mohammed emphasized that the PDP in Kwara is not just a political party but a “movement of people with good conscience, unity of purpose, and a clear vision for development.
