In a major political shift in Gombe State, members of the polling unit of former Governor Dr. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defectors were formally received by the Chairman of Gombe Local Government and State ALGON Chairman, Hon. Barr. Sani Ahmad Haruna (Wakilin Arewan Gombe), in a ceremony that attracted top political figures and grassroots supporters.

Led by the Senior Special Assistant on GOSTEC, D.J. Mai Taya, the group comprised a large contingent of former PDP loyalists who pledged their allegiance to the ruling APC.

Welcoming them, Barr.Sani Haruna commended their “bold and strategic” decision, assuring them of equal opportunities and active participation in party affairs.

He described the APC as a platform committed to unity, good governance, and sustainable development across the state.

Speaking on behalf of the State APC Chairman, Mr. Nite K. Amangal, the Gombe LGA APC Chairman, Alh. Abubakar Danladi, praised the spirit of unity among members and pledged unwavering support for both new and existing party members.

The Governor’s Special Adviser on Security, Hon. Abubakar Aminu Musa (Talban Herwagana), hailed the defection as a milestone in strengthening political cohesion and expanding grassroots participation in governance.

In separate remarks, some defectors expressed confidence in Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s leadership and credited the APC’s developmental achievements at both state and national levels as key factors behind their move.
