NCC Congratulates New Board Members, Reaffirms Drive for Digital Economy Growth

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has congratulated Mr. Idris Olorunnimbe, the newly appointed Chairman-designate of its Board, and other distinguished designate-Board members, following their appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The Commission also extended its felicitations to the designate members of the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) Board.

In a statement signed by the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Aminu Maida, the NCC described the newly constituted leadership team as a collection of highly esteemed individuals of proven competence, with vast experience and impressive track records.

According to the Commission, the collective expertise of the appointees is expected to steer Nigeria’s communications industry toward greater innovation and sustainability, providing fresh impetus to the ongoing transformation of the nation’s digital economy.

“They will bring to bear their wealth of knowledge, strategic insight, and strong governance to enhance the regulatory work of the Commission,” the statement read.

The NCC expressed its profound appreciation to President Tinubu for the appointments and pledged to work closely with its supervising Ministry and the incoming Board to deliver on the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda for Nigeria’s digital economy.

With the appointments, stakeholders in the ICT sector anticipate a new phase of strategic reforms and policy direction to deepen connectivity, enhance service delivery, and expand digital inclusion nationwide
