1 Mins read

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced the publication of the Application-To-Person (A2P) Messaging Framework on its official website. The Framework is part of the NCC’s efforts to ensure compliance with the Nigerian Communications Act (NCA), 2003, and promote transparency in the telecommunications sector.

In a statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs, Reuben Muoka, the Commission invited stakeholders to review the published Framework and submit comments and contributions via email to aadaba@ncc.gov.ng, copying msyusuf@ncc.gov.ng, no later than December 19, 2024.

To further engage stakeholders, the NCC will host a virtual Stakeholders Forum on December 20, 2024, to discuss the Framework. The forum aims to provide clarity and address concerns raised during the review process.

The A2P Framework outlines guidelines for the use of automated messaging services by businesses, emphasizing consumer protection and ensuring compliance with existing regulations.

Reaffirming its commitment to fostering a robust telecommunications environment, the NCC encouraged all stakeholders to participate actively in the review and forum. Interested parties can access the Framework on the Commission’s website at www.ncc.gov.ng.

The NCC continues to prioritize regulatory excellence, ensuring the Nigerian telecommunications sector remains innovative and consumer-friendly.
