A political stakeholder in Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State, Aare Olayinka Segelu, has felicitated Hon. Chief Akeem Ademola Ige, popularly known as “Ige Again,” on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a consummate grassroots politician with remarkable resilience and staying power.

In a congratulatory message made available to journalists on Sunday, Segelu lauded Ige’s political journey, which he said has been defined by loyalty, consistency, and unwavering relevance within the political landscape of Oyo State.

Hon. Ige, a former Local Government Chairman, previously represented his constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly and later served as Special Adviser on Tourism and Culture to Governor Seyi Makinde during the administration’s first term, popularly referred to as Omituntun 1.0.

He currently serves as Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board, a position Segelu noted reflects the confidence reposed in him by the state government.
According to Segelu, who holds the titles of Aare Akinrogun of Igbo Elerinland and Environs and Asiwaju Ilu of Olosunde Village and Environs, one of Ige’s most distinguishing attributes is his political doggedness and sagacity.

“He has remained a formidable force without losing touch with his grassroots base — a rare and admirable quality in contemporary politics,” Segelu said.

“His ability to sustain relevance while maintaining loyalty to both party structure and the people has earned him admiration across party lines.”

He further described Ige as a stabilizing presence and dependable mobilizer within the framework of the Omituntun 2.0 administration, adding that his contributions have continued to strengthen governance and deepen grassroots engagement in the state.

As Ige marks another year, Segelu emphasized that the celebration is not only of his achievements but also of his consistency, courage, and commitment to public service.

He prayed for long life, good health, wisdom, and greater accomplishments for the celebrant in the years ahead.

“Happy Birthday, sir. May your new year be filled with even greater achievements and impact,” Segelu stated.
